TRIAL CLASS

WHAT IS A TRIAL CLASS?
Backstage Dance Studio offers trial classes during our school-year session for those families who would like their dancer to try a class before registering for the session.

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR A TRIAL CLASS?
Yes. The fee per trial class is $15. The fee will be charged to the payment method you select when you register for a trial class. Fees are charged the day after you attend the trial class.

WHEN ARE TRIAL CLASSES AVAILABLE?
Our trial classes for the 2024-2025 School-Year Session begin the week of September 23rd. Trials are only available in classes where there is space availability, so those that indicate that there is a “Waitlist” next to the class description are not available for a trial.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A TRIAL CLASS?
Beginning the week of September 16th, you can register for a trial class online through the Backstage website. Select the “register” link next the the class you would like to try, which will prompt you to set up a portal account. You will sign off on studio policies,  select the “trial” option from the drop-down menu, and input payment information. You will receive a confirmation email after registering for the class.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR A TRIAL CLASS?
The dress code for our regular classes can be found HERE. For trial classes, there is no expectation that students have all the dress code clothing items. Students should wear comfortable, easy to move around clothing to their trial class. If they don’t have the dress code shoes, dancing barefoot in ballet and jazz classes and wearing athletic shoes with clean soles for hip hop and tap classes would be fine for a trial class.

WHERE DO I CHECK-IN FOR A TRIAL CLASS?
When you arrive at the studio for your child’s trial class, please check-in at the front desk. We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before the class start time to give yourself time for the check-in process. A staff member will give your child a trial class nametag and will tell you which studio room your child’s class is in. After the trial class, please check-in that front desk and a staff member can help you with the registration process.
